Reproductive and genetics hospital CITIC-XIANGYA,established in 2002 is one of the earliest tertiary reproductive and genetic specialist hospitals in China that can fully implement human assisted reproductive technology (including human sperm bank). At present, it is China’s human assisted reproductive technology and human sperm bank technology training base, the national (Hunan) gene testing technology application demonstration center, Hunan Provincial Postdoctoral Research and development center.

The hospital has successively created more than ten breakthrough achievements in the field of reproductive genetics, such as "China's first frozen semen artificial insemination baby", "China's first embryo transfer IVF baby" and "China's first cancer-free baby". By March 2019, more than 150,000 healthy babies were born through ART treatment received in the hospital. In August 2017, the top academic journal NATURE reported that the Reproductive and Genetics Hosptial CITIC-XIANGYA, as the biggest clinic recorded 41,000 IVF procedures in 2016. Assisted reproduction

The IVF treatment cycles in the reproductive center of CITIC-XIANGYA hospital exceeded 49,000 in 2018, and the overall pregnancy rate of fresh embryos reached 63%. A comprehensive assisted reproductive technology treatment program can be implemented: "test-tube baby", Microinsemination (ICSI), Preimplantation genetic diagnosis/screening (PGD/PGS), treatment on egg donation, in vitro maturation treatment for oocytes, artificial insemination (AIH/AID)。The reproductive center in the hospital successfully passed the certification of the authority in March 2014 and become the first IVF center obtained ISO9001:2008 certification in China.

 

Human Sperm Bank

The CITIC-XIANGYA Human Sperm bank is the technical guidance center of national sperm bank, with more than 150,000 samples of human sperm in stock. It provides high-quality sperm sources and fertility preservation for reproductive centers in nearly 30 provinces and cities in China.

Genetic eugenics

The Genetics Department of CITIC-XIANGYA is the Pre-pregnancy Diagnostic Training Center of the National Health Commission of China and the Hunan Provincial Prenatal Diagnostic Service Agency. It has established a comprehensive diagnostic platform for cell and molecular genetics, and now provides genetic counseling services to more than 15,000 patients each year. The annual chromosomal disease detection is more than 50,000 cases, and the annual genetic diagnosis is nearly 10,000. The pre-implantation genetic diagnosis of more than 260 single-gene diseases can be performed, and 55 inherited tumor diseases can be blocked and intervened. China's first cancer-free baby was born in 2015. In 2018, it was certified by ISO 9001:Quality management system was certified in 2015.

 

Introduction
The establishment of National Engineering Research Center for Human Stem Cells(NERCSC) was approved by National Development and Reform Comission of China in 2005. It is the only national engineering center in life sciences field in Hunan Province. Hunan Guangxiu-Gaoxin Life Sciences Co.,LTD was responsible for the management of NERCSC.
The Center established the world's first human somatic cell cloning blastocyst. which was reported by the American Wall Street Journal and the British Times. The center also established the first human embryonic stem cell line in China in 2000, and has now become the world's largest embryonic stem cell bank with independent intellectual property rights, with 522 human embryonic stem cells in stock. 
In 2018, the center was approved to build Hunan Stem Cell Bank, with a plan to store 70,000 cells.In the same year,Hunan Guangxiu-Gaoxin Life Sciences Co.,LTD got the ISO9001 accreditation for“provide technical research on stem cells and immune cells,and standardized production of human embryonic stem cells and their derivatives, adult stem cells and immune cells in related process”.
Development goal: To develop cell therapy and tissue engineering products with human embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells as seed sources, and promote the marketization and industrialization of human stem cell research achievements.
