Huilin Lu (1900.9-1997.3) : a famous Chinese geneticist, medical biologist and medical geneticist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Heidelberg University in the United States in 1926, and his master's degree in zoology from Columbia University in 1927. Then he studied under the supervision of famous geneticist Professor Morgan and cytologist Professor Wilson. He was a professor and doctoral supervisor of hunan (xiangya) medical university. He was one of the founders and witnesses of genetics in China. He translated Morgan's "Gene Theory" into Chinese, and was the first person who translated the word "gene"into Chinese. His lifelong goal was to improve the birth quality of the Chinese population by genetics.
