Technology-leading, quality-control first, emphasis on scientific research
Technology The Imaging Department of CITIC Xiangya Reproductive and Genetic Specialty Hospital has undergone years of development and currently has 31 medical staff members, including 15 doctors (1 chief physician, 4 associate chief physicians, 8 attending physicians, and 2 physicians), 9 nurses, and 7 physician assistants. Two staff members hold doctoral degrees, and seven hold master's degrees.
Advanced Equipment The department boasts advanced medical equipment. Currently, it owns over 20 high-end color ultrasound machines from internationally renowned brands such as GE (E10, E8, etc.), PHILIPS, and Samsung. It is equipped with various types of ultrasound probes and diagnostic software systems, along with a complete image storage and image-text management system. The department has achieved information management, with total assets of approximately 50 million yuan.
Service Level The department routinely performs ultrasound examinations in gynecology, early pregnancy, prenatal screening, andrology, abdomen, superficial tissues, and cardiovascular systems, averaging over 500 examinations per day. Gynecological and early pregnancy 4D ultrasound, NT screening, and ultrasound assessment of male infertility have become the department's specialty examination items. In addition, the department has established a strict quality control and consultation system, effectively ensuring medical quality and gaining unanimous recognition from clinicians and patients, enjoying a high reputation domestically.
Since 2011, the department has been a pioneer in applying intracavitary 3D ultrasound for diagnosing endometrial lesions, genital malformations, fallopian tube lesions, and ovarian masses. It has further developed examination items such as endometrial receptivity, ovarian blood perfusion, and ovarian reserve function assessment. To date, the hospital's intracavitary 3D ultrasound has performed approximately 400,000 examinations, including over 40,000 diagnoses of uterine malformations, over 30,000 diagnoses of intrauterine adhesions, and 250,000 early pregnancies. The diagnostic level is among the leading in the country and internationally.
As a provincial-level prenatal diagnosis center, to improve the level of prenatal ultrasound diagnosis, since 2018, the hospital has appointed Professor Li Shengli, head of the National Prenatal Ultrasound Diagnosis Expert Group and director of the Ultrasound Department of the Shenzhen Women and Children's Hospital affiliated with Southern Medical University, as a specially appointed expert. Professor Li has established standardized procedures for the department's prenatal ultrasound screening. In addition, the department sends two doctors to the "Prenatal Ultrasound Diagnosis Training Base" of Shenzhen Women and Children's Hospital for specialized training in prenatal ultrasound diagnostic skills every year. Currently, the hospital's standardized NT screening level is among the leading in the province and has received high praise from Professor Li.
