From September 1999 to June 2004, he pursued a master's and doctoral degree in medical genetics at the Institute of Reproduction and Stem Cell Engineering, Central South University. In 2006, he worked as a visiting scholar in the Department of Physiology at the University of Nevada, USA, conducting research on spermatogenesis-related genes. His current research focuses on male reproductive genetics and clinical laboratory diagnostics.

In recent years, he has published more than 20 papers indexed by SCI, EI, and CSCD as the first author or corresponding author, and participated in the publication of more than 20 papers indexed by SCI, EI, and CSCD; he has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation of China project, one key project of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, one Ministry of Education's Doctoral Program New Teacher Fund project, and two horizontal scientific research and development projects; and participated in four National Natural Science Foundation projects and one 973 project.
